Every Gift Makes A Difference
Giving Brochure
At Cottage Hill Christian Academy, we view every gift as a major gift because every donation represents an individual or family who wants to see our school become even greater in fulfilling our mission.
Each donor has specific and general answers to the question, “What is my desire for Cottage Hill Christian Academy?” Maybe you would like to see growth in the capital program, “Invest in Excellence.” Perhaps you would like to see growth in an endowment fund or maybe a new teaching tool in your child’s or grandchild’s or grandchild’s classroom. Maybe you might want to help with the Booker/Cagle Scholarship Program for deserving students. Regardless of your interest, in almost every case there is a giving option that will help you realize your desire for the Academy.
Ways to Give
Cash
Cash donations by check are the most common way to give. The Development Office provides Acknowledgements to meet I.R.S. requirements for all contributions.
Securities
Increasing numbers of parents, alumni, and friends are making gifts to Cottage Hill Christian Academy using appreciated securities such as stocks and mutual funds. The attraction of this method of giving is that the donor is entitled to take a charitable deduction for the full current value of appreciated securities held longer that one year and is able to avoid paying capital gains tax that would be due if the donor sold the securities. Bequests
More and more friends of Cottage Hill Christian Academy are designating bequests to our school, allowing us to recognize their extraordinary commitment during their lifetime.

Capital Campaign Gifts
The Cottage Hill Christian Academy capital campaign gifts are directed toward new construction and debt reduction.
Annual Fund Gifts
The Cottage Hill Christian Academy Annual Fund consists of both restricted and unrestricted gifts to the school. Annual Fund gifts support and promote excellence at Cottage Hill by providing crucial funding for all academic areas and co-curricular activities.
Directed Gifts
(also known as restricted gifts)
These are given for a particular need. Whether it be for a teaching tool needed in your child’s classroom or for capitol improvements, directed gifts are encouraged at Cottage Hill. Let us know how you would like to make a directed gift and we will be happy to work with you.
Unique Gift Vehicles
Commemorative Gifts
You may want to honor a friend with a special gift on a birthday or during a special time of year or perhaps you may want to give a gift in memory of a loved one. If so, a commemorative gift is your answer. Commemorative Gift donation notes are available at the Academy; we will notify those honored by these gifts. In the case of memorial gifts, a family member you choose to designate will be notified. Contact Roz Chapman in the Development Office.
Tree of Honor
The Tree of Honor at the Academy represents gifts of all kinds valued at $1,000 or more for the Capital debt. Each leaf acknowledges, by name, the honoree. Call us for more information
Other Ways to Give
A variety of other ways by which you can support Cottage Hill Christian Academy, include gifts of property, charitable remainder trusts, and more.
